Scientific paper

It is shown that the results of spectroscopic observations onboard
Venera 9 and 10 can be interpreted in terms of the presence of an
optically thin dust ring about the planet. It is suggested that a small
Venusian satellite situated within the Roche limit may act as the dust
source.
