We have selected a sample of 171 dense molecular clumps detected by the 1.1 mm wavelength Bolocam Galactic Plane Survey and previously observed in CS(2-1), CS(5-4), and/or CS(7-6) in an attempt to piece together part of the evolutionary sequence for massive star formation. We resolved the kinematic distance ambiguity for each source by looking for IRDC associations and HI self-absorption features matched to larger CO-emitting molecular envelopes at the measured velocities of the dense gas tracer CS. We show our face-on view of the Galactic distribution of the sample of dense molecular clumps. 164 clumps are coincident with IRAS point sources and are therefore active star forming regions. We present the mass-luminosity diagram and compare to conceptual models of the earliest stages of massive star formation. We note that, for IRAS-detected sources, there is a very strong mass-luminosity and F_{mm}-F_{FIR} correlation, suggesting that for hot sources the 1.1 mm emission may serve as a good proxy for the total infrared luminosity. The BGPS was supported by NSF grant AST 0708403.
