We developed a new method of deriving stellar number density distribution along a line of sight from star count data by using Linear\ Programming technique. The derived stellar number density distribution is further used to find distances to molecular clouds in the antigalactic center region. For star count data, we took deep CCD images at Dominian Astrophysical Observatory in V band up to 21 mag. The effect of the choice of the luminosity function is discussed. In addition, the effects of the general extinction law on the resulting stellar number density distribution and cloud distances are discussed.
