The paper examines the validity and scope of applicability of a proposed gas dynamics model of the Galaxy. The limits of applicability of the mass conservation law and the continuity equation to gravitational collapse are indicated. Consideration is also given to the effect of turbulent flow on small perturbation flow equation analysis and hence to the accuracy of the approximation used in the model.
