A sequence of successive kinetic energy maxima at the expanding phases of pulsating stars is used as a discrete-dynamic expression of stellar pulsation. It is shown that the transition from the periodic pulsation to the irregular one can be explained by the rate of dissipation. Thus, the semiirregular and irregular stellar pulsation may be produced by the stong dissipation of large-amplitude pulsations.
