High-resolution H I column density maps of the poststarburst dwarf galaxy NGC 1569 are presented. The H I distribution has two remarkable features: a clumpy ridge, forming the northern boundary of the optical galaxy, and a 190 pc hole, centered on the peculiar object A, thought to be a very compact and very luminous star cluster. The hole is probably caused by stellar winds from object A. The cavity may have been formed about 2-million yr ago in a relatively tenuous medium. However, an origin shortly after the starburst 10-million yr ago in a dense medium is considered more likely.
