A brief status report is presented on ongoing extensive and detailed
Walraven photometric observations of the young stellar cluster NGC 2244
in the Rosette Nebula. The observational and reduction procedure is
described, together with the first results on membership, extinction,
and detection of pre-main-sequence stars.
