We present imaging and spectral studies of the supernova remnant (SNR) Sgr A East, as observed with deep Chandra/ACIS observations of the Galactic center. We confirm the previously reported Fe abundance enhancement near the center of the SNR. X-ray emission from the Fe-rich central region suggests the presence of multi-temperature components of hot plasma as well as Fe overabundance (a few times solar). We draw attention to a hard pointlike source (CXOGC J174545.5-285829) lying at the northern edge of Sgr A East, just within the radio shell boundary. Based on morphological, spectral, and temporal characteristics, we propose that this hard X-ray source, which also has a pointlike radio counterpart, might be a high-velocity neutron star associated with the SNR. Follow-up observations searching for pulsation from this neutron star candidate would be warranted.
