Redshift Surveys: Radio Galaxies, Galaxy Clustering: Radio Galaxies
Scientific paper
The authors are using the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) to make a deep radio mosaic of the ESO Key Project galaxy redshift survey. This survey spans 27 square degrees in two narrow strips and provides redshifts for more than 3000 galaxies. To date, the authors have observed 60% of this area at 20 cm with ≡80 mJy sensitivity (1σ). First results indicate that they will detect ≡2000 radio sources above 5σ and ≡200 of the redshift survey galaxies above 3σ. The complete sample will allow a very reliable study of the correlations between radio and optical properties and will provide a unique view of the population of low power radio galaxies.
