Now that a decade has been spent administrating the Shapley Visiting Lectureships Program from Schenectady and considering that the program will be soon administrated from the AAS office in Washington, DC, it is time to review its previous history, summarize some of the changes made during the last ten years and end with some recommendations for consideration by the next administrator. Financially the program is back on a sound basis. The major change here is that now we make the majority of visits by car rather than by flying everyone all over the country. We do fly to places too isolated for car trips and in cases when special speakers or topics are requested. The number of visits per year are now about 50 but not back to the earlier levels of about 100 visits per year. New speakers have been added who cover topics not well covered in past years. Mexico has been added to the list of places visited by the Shapley Program and Mexican astronomers have been added to the list of lecturers. The success of the program resides in the willingness of our Shapley Lecturers to take time off from their busy schedules to make the lecture trips. My sincere thanks go to each lecturer.
