Photometric observations of 16 young stellar objects during 10 observing periods form 1981 to 1991 are reported. The photometry includes measurements with broadband Stromgren uvby and standard UBVRIJHKL intermediate filters in addition to narrow-band H-alpha and H-beta filters. The material includes eight classical T Tauri stars (CTTS), five weak-line T Tauri stars (WTTS), two post-T Tauri candidates (PTTS), and one Herbig Ae star. Periodic light variations in 15 of the stars were searched for. None of the CTTS shows distinct periods. It is concluded that many announced periods are still doubtful, but one-fourth of the CTTS studied so far have well defined periods. All five WTTS show evidence of regular fluctuations of small amplitudes on time-scales of a few days. For the Herbig Ae star Ab Aur, no period can be announced at present.
