A model is proposed which treats the Big Bang transition into protogalaxies and supernova fragmentation into solar systems as similar processes. The fragmentation process comprises a spherical shell with island-like fragments on the surface which move away from each other at speeds proportional to their separation distances. As the density of the whole decreases, the mass of any particular fragment coalesces. New stars are predicted at the periphery of a supernova expansion, and an assumption of primeval angular momentum is made. The model predicts a supernova of 25 solar masses yielding nascient solar systems of 0.02 solar mass which radially move outward, collecting matter on the way; isotopic differences predicted to be evident with distance from the center of a planetary disk are noted to be available from comets, and also from the surface of the planet Pluto.
