The types of data compiled in the preliminary STE Data Book for February-March 1986 (Watanabe and Iwata, 1988) are discussed, and the techniques used to combine and display the data are demonstrated. Several multiparameter diagrams based on machine-readable data provided by the observers are shown, and particular attention is given to the periods of high solar-flare activity and geomagnetic storms in February and the observations of Comet Halley in March.
