The Department of Astronomy of the University of Beograd is the only institution which educates students for degrees in astronomy in Yugoslavia. The major sources of information about its history are briefly discussed. A scheme of its development (within the Philosophical Faculty and later within the Faculty of Sciences and the Mathematical Faculty) is presented. The lists of all graduated students in astronomy, all those who acquired M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in astronomy at the University of Beograd with corresponding dates are compiled. The titles of M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses are also given.
