Satellite Dynamics: Space Debris, Collision

A computation method to warn the collision event between space probe and debris is proposed. It possesses many advantages, such as high computational efficiencies, low effect from along track error and much longer warning period of validity. With the method, to detect if collision would take place or not between space probe and 5800 debris in one day's interval, the computing time will be less than 3 seconds. Also with the method, the collision event between CERISES and a fragment of Ariana, is calculated, the result shows, that the error is 0.02 seconds in collision time and 500-600 meters in position.
