Earth Ionosphere: Electron Content

Scientific paper

A method for measuring the space-time distribution of the total electron content in the polar ionosphere is presented; the method is based on the use of simultaneous measurements at one point of the difference of the Doppler effect of NNSSA satellites and the Faraday rotation of the linearly polarized galactic radiation in the polestar region. It is shown that the composite method permits making an analysis of the dynamics of large-scale inhomogeneities of the polar ionosphere.
