We have uncovered a population of heavily obscured quasars with a Spitzer survey of 9 deg^2 of Bootes. The sky surface density of these powerful quasars is too low (~ 2 deg^-2) for them to be in the Chandra or Hubble deep fields. These quasars are mostly radio quiet, and they are too obscured to be observed by previous wide-field surveys in the optical, near-IR, and X-ray. These quasars may comprise 50% of the overall quasar population. We will use GMOS-N spectra, along with existing MMT and Spitzer IRS spectra, to produce a complete redshift survey of 24 micron and 70 micron sources brighter than 4 mJy and 80 mJy respectively. This will result in a highly complete census of the most powerful z< 4 obscured and unobscured quasars. We will use the spectroscopic redshifts and Spitzer photometry to measure the obscured quasar fraction as a function of bolometric luminosity. This has not been possible with previous radio, X-ray, or optical samples. As the extended optical emission of type II quasars is dominated by stellar continuum, we will use the obscured quasar sample to measure the growth of supermassive blackholes and stellar mass at z~2.
