Measurements of the richness of a sample of groups and Abell clusters are presented using the correlation coefficients of the spatial two point correlation function as the measure of richness. The groups are found to form a continuous sequence in richness with the Abell clusters, with the Abell clusters being generally richer than the groups, though with considerable overlap. On the basis of these richness measurements, as well as other less well known properties of groups such as x-ray luminosity, groups are concluded to be a lower richness extension of rich galaxy clusters.
