The effect of the dynamic model error on orbit determination is discussed in this paper. The characteristics of orbit estimation errors are obtained through a comparison of the techniques of long-arc and short-arc in the classical batch-type orbit determination algorithm. A method of the dynamic model compensation in batch is suggested. Fially, accuracy of the estimation by laser range observation from Lageos satellite is given. The study indicates that the dynamic compensation algorithm can obtain a significant improvement in accuracy.
