We present a detailed comparison of HST Faint Object Camera optical/UV and Very Large Array radio images of the M87 Jet, both with ~ 0.1" resolution. While the radio and optical images have a remarkable degree of similarity, there are also significant differences. The optical/UV images show intrinsically higher contrast, with the radio-to-optical spectral indices being steeper in the interknot regions than in the knots themselves. The jet is also appreciably narrower in the optical band than at radio frequencies. These, and other differences will be discussed, along with implications for particle acceleration and energy transport models.
