Gaseous jets were first imaged in comet P/Halley by A'Hearn et al. (Nature 1986, p.649). Since then, most published works have concentrated on analysis of either the gas jets or the dust jets. A'Hearn et al. (Proc of the 20th ESLAB Symposium 1986, p.483), Hoban and A'Hearn (Comets in the Post-Halley Era, Bamberg, FRG 1989, p.286) and Cosmovici et al. (Nature 1988, p. 705) have done rudimentary comparisons between the gas and dust jets of comet P/Halley. These investigations have been more of the form of qualitative comparisons between the gas and dust jets than a quantitative analysis. We discuss the physical properties of the gas jets, taken through IHW CN, C2, and C3 filters, and the dust jets, taken through IHW red (6840 Angstroms) and blue (4845 Angstroms) continuum filters. This analysis includes calibrated brightnesses, widths, and positions of the jets. In addition, we will directly compare and contrast the gas and dust jets. All gas jets are spatially coincident and have a typical Gaussian width of 30deg . The primary gas and dust jets have similar physical characteristics but are spatially unrelated, even after accounting for radiation pressure.
