The observational evidence for binary asteroids or asteroids with satellites is reviewed. Recent improvements in observing techniques are examined, occultation evidence is summarized, and several asteroid photoelectric light curves with similarities to binary-star light curves are shown. Ten indicators for possible duplicity are listed along with the objects which have shown the characteristics. Both well-organized ground-based observation programs and space observations are suggested.
