The fall of a large fragment of the Comet D/1993 F2 (Shoemaker-Levy 9) into the Jovian atmosphere is simulated. The free-Lagrangian method is used with the assumption of a fluid-like body. The comet disintegration process and the height dependence of energy release are represented. The results are in good agreement with known analytical models of a liquid expanding meteoroid, although they differ from similar simulations by other authors.
