We analyse 15 ks of low-noise ROSAT PSPC data and calculate the mass distribution in A2670. The mass inferred from the X-ray data is not enough to explain the observed line-of-sight velocity dispersion profile, and we investigate two possible reasons for this. We conclude that A2670 is in the process of merging along the line of sight, as was first proposed by Bird.
