Scientific paper

Photoelectric and photographic photometry in B and V for NGC 6235 yields a color-magnitude diagram showing a well developed blue horizontal branch, absence of a red horizontal branch, and a pronounced asymptotic giant branch. The color excess EB-V = 0.38 mag and the true distance modulus is 14.8±0.3 mag. Metallicity indicators support a value of [m/H] ∼ -1.4.
