A model of the EG And symbiotic system in which both components have a stellar wind is proposed. It is supposed that a region of ionization is formed at the interface of the colliding winds in this system and that part of the giant's wind is ionized by the hot component also. The profiles, intensities and radial velocities of the Hα line, and some ultraviolet emission lines taken from the literature, are treated in the framework of this model.
