The largest collection of Galilean satellite eclipse observations extent has been gathered from the published literature and from manuscript collections from 1652 to 1983. Many of the observations were thought to have been irretrievably lost for more than a century. The collection will be of great value in evaluating long-term effects on the Galilean satellites such as the possible existence of tidal dissipation on their periods.
