Eight near-infrared sources have been discovered in the vicinity of the neutral intrusions in the core of the H II, H I and molecular complex M16 (NGC 6611). JHKL photometry of four of these sources is presented and indicates emission from hot (˜1000 K) circumstellar dust. The brightest infrared source, Ml 6 IRS 1, is coincident in position with a radio continuum peak.
