We present a new class of inhomogeneous and anisotropic cosmologies with perfect fluid matter content. The subclass of solutions with vanishing pressure are members of the class of inhomogeneous pressurefree cosmologies recently found by Szekeres. In addition, the Robertson-Walker solution with flat space sections and equation of state p= (γ-1) μ, is contained as a special case. The relation between our solutions and this Robertson-Walker solution in the limit of large cosmological time is studied in detail.
