LS 5039 is a persistent microquasar with many striking similarities to SS 433. Located only 3 kpc away and suffering minimal extinction, the X-ray structure of the jets and inner accretion region may be revealed simultaneously with Chandra. We propose an HETGS observation of this source to resolve the jet structure and energetics, to constrain the accretion flow geometry in this system, to place LS 5039 in the context of other microquasars such as SS 433, 1E 1740.7-2942, and GRS 1915+105.
