G266.2-1.2 (RX J0852.0-4622) is a member of the small but growing class of dynamically young, shell-type Galactic supernova remnants (SNRs) that feature X-ray spectra dominated by non-thermal emission. Such emission may be produced by synchrotron radiation emitted by high energy electrons gyrating in the magnetic field of the SNR. We are currently conducting a detailed analysis of this type of emission as exhibited by several Galactic SNRs and exploring its relationship with cosmic-ray acceleration by SNRs. As part of this study, we present a 75 kilosecond observation of the luminous northwestern rim of G266.2-1.2 made using the ACIS-S instrument array aboard Chandra. Initial results from the analysis of this data will be presented and discussed. T.G.P. acknowledges support from NASA LTSA grant NAG5-9237.
