Following the discovery of IGR J18179-1621 (Tuerler et al. 2012, ATel #3947) on 2012-02-29, we triggered our Chandra HETGS ToO observation. Due to a solar flare, our observation could be executed only starting from 2012-03-17T23:09 until 2012-03-18T05:17, for a total exposure time of about 20 ksec. We obtain an absorbed 1-8 keV flux of about 1.6 10-11 erg/s/cm2.
