Scientific paper

In this paper a B-band light curve of the W UMa contact binary RZ Com is presented. From the observations, five times of light minimum were determined. The light curve was analyzed by means of the latest version of the Wilson-Devinney code. The results suggest that RZ Com is a W-subtype contact with a mass ratio of q=m2/m1=2.226. In the new photometric solution, the photospheric temperature of the secondary T2=4842+/-8 K. It is slightly lower than the photospheric temperature of the primary T1.
