A BVRI CCD photometric study is presented for forty-three star clusters ((B - V) < 0.4), in the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy. Data for this study were collected using the 0.61m telescope that the University of Toronto operates in Las Campanas, Chile, during observing runs in January and November of 1988 and a calibrating run in January 1990. A study of the distribution of light is presented for all the clusters by fitting theoretical light profiles obtained from King models and a model proposed by Elson et al., (1987). Determination and analysis of parameters such as tidal radius, core radius, and central brightness as well as an estimation of the ellipticity and orientation of each cluster are presented. The geometrical parameters derived in this work for each cluster are compared with previous results. Seventeen clusters in the sample have calibrated photometry; for those clusters D scAOPHOT was used to obtain photometry of the stellar components in each of the filters to construct Color-Magnitude diagrams and Color-Color diagrams; estimation of reddening and age were obtained with the use of theoretical stellar models considering convective overshoot for each of the clusters. Integrated photometry was obtained for the seventeen clusters. The results of such analysis induced the exploration of "reddening-free" Color-Color Diagrams which could lead to a relation between position of clusters in such diagrams and their age. The effect of chemical composition was also explored. Determinations of Luminosity Functions, and estimations of the degree of completeness in star counts as a function of magnitude and position relative to the cluster center are presented for the clusters with calibrated photometry. Luminosity Functions for the "field" population found around each cluster are presented. The red component of the field was found to have a very uniform distribution in the slopes of the Luminosity Function.
