We report on the publication of a new catalogue which contains up-to-date information on X-ray binaries, which are semi-detached binary stars in which matter is transferred from a usually normal star to a neutron star or to a black hole. The aim of this catalogue is to provide scientists with basic information on X-ray sources and their counterparts in other wavelength ranges in order to facilitate further investigation of these objects.
