A delta-Q method is generalized to be used as a new criteria for
spectral classification of B-type stars. A random sample of 500 B-type
stars is examined and the photometric quantity delta-Q is calculated for
them. The most calculated delta-Q values are found to be restricted to
the interval of +/-0.08 which is of the same order in Be-stars.
