A catalog of X-ray sources containing 517 objects known as of 1978 February has been compiled. X-ray data collected by means of rockets, balloons, and satellites during 1964-1977 are listed. Optical and radio counterparts are suggested. The existence of the weak X-ray source population in the Galaxy is indicated. Average parameters of the different types of X-ray sources are estimated, as well as the number of X-ray sources of each type in the Galaxy.
