Astronomical Catalogs, Stellar Spectra, White Dwarf Stars
Scientific paper
A catalog of 1279 spectroscopically identified white dwarfs is presented, complete to 1987 January. For each degenerate star, the catalog lists a coordinate designation, in order of increasing right ascension; the full coordinates for 1950.0; the spectral type on the new white dwarf classification system; a symbol denoting binary membership; most known names; proper motion and position angle; broad-band, narrow-band, and multichannel colors; a best available absolute magnitude; trigonometric parallax; and radial velocity. A Notes section and a coded Reference Key are presented, as well as a table cross-referencing all names to catalog coordinate designation.
