To adapt the main components of the existing solar eclipse spectrograph for the observation of 1997 total solar eclipse in Mohe, China, the authors make three design schemes on the position of the coelostat and the optical layout of the imaging system and the spectrograph. Compared with the 1983 total solar eclipse, the feasibility and the effects on observation and results are also discussed.
