The 100-m telescope of the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Radioastronomie was used to survey an area of 0.00660 sterad, overlapping the 5C6 area, at a frequency of 4850 MHz to a limiting flux density of 20 mJy. The resulting map of the area and a source list containing 96 sources above this limit are presented along with the method of observation, data reduction, and error analysis. A detailed discussion of the spectral index distribution for sources selected at 408 MHz with S(408) not less than 125 mJy and at 4850 MHz with S(4850) not less than 20 mJy is presented, and the results are compared with those for strong sources. A strong radial distance-spectral index dependence in the 5C6 survey was found.
