We have detected no pulsars in a deep survey of the Galactic Centre region at an observing frequency centred at 1520 MHz. This survey confirms that either there is a lack of pulsars in the Galactic Centre, or scattering is severe in the inner 100 pc. Which of these propositions is correct could be tested by conducting surveys at higher observing frequencies.
