The paper reports on a 1421-MHz survey of 106 radio sources in seven regions surrounding the north celestial pole, which was undertaken to evaluate source counts between 30 and 300 mJy and to measure the spectra of sources with low flux densities. A synthesized beamwidth of 3.6 arcmin was used, and minimum detection levels of 30 mJy over 2.6 sq deg and 75 mJy over 19 sq deg were attained. The results are compared with those of a previous survey conducted at 178 MHz, and detailed attention is given to flux densities, angular sizes, optical identifications, and tests for isotropy. Flux densities at other frequencies are discussed for several sources, individual spectra of four sources are examined, and the mean convexity of spectra in samples of sources selected at 178 and 1421 MHz is investigated.
