A used paraboloidal antenna of 6 m diameter, which had been a mm-wave telescope of former Tokyo Astronomical Observatory of Japan, was refurbished for geodetic and astrometric VLBI observations. Performance of the 6 m antenna system was proven to be good enough as a VLBI station by the first fringe detection test held in September 1989. The antenna has been used for geodetic and astrometric VLBI observations including the regular IRIS-P (International Radio Interferometric Surveying-Pacific) Earth rotation monitoring
