The asteroid (51) Nemausa attained the small solar phase angle 0.64° on 1994 September 24.90 and was observed in Strömgren uvby at La Silla between September 25.0 and 27.4 UT, where the phase angle varied from 0.64° to 1.37° and the phase factor in y was found to vary during rotation in the range 0.05 to 0.13 mag°. This confirms earlier found variation, but the high values observed here are due to the opposition effect. The approximate 11 : 3 orbital resonance with the Earth allows certain identification of minor details by comparing seven lightcurves separated 5.5 years observed since 1983.
