The authors present a 93 yr run of all the reliable photometric data known to us for 3C 273. The data set consists of 942 values obtained from 12 different sources starting in 1887 and ending in 1980. These data have been placed on the same photometric scale. Power spectral analysis has been performed using a method that handles unequally spaced data. The authors found no strictly periodic modes of variations for 3C 273 occurring throughout the 93 yr time span. Yet, segments of the light curve show variations suggestive of nonrandom fluctuation. The disparity among the findings of previous studies of the periodicity of 3C 273 has resulted from the use of different data set and/or different smoothing and analysis techniques.
