A few numerical examples of the collapse of nonspherical interstellar clouds with initial density perturbations are presented. The calculations reach far into the non-linear regime and show that the growth rate of the perturbation as well as the probability of fragmentation are complicated functions of the initial conditions. It is found, in accordance with previously published results, that only high-amplitude or long-wavelength perturbations can evolve into well-defined fragments, which can survive the overall collapse of the cloud. The formation of spinning blobs is observed in the case of very strong initial density contrasts.
