2MASSW J0746425+200322 is the first L dwarf system with a dynamical mass
determination. It has been claimed that the system is young (<500
Myr) and that therefore the secondary is clearly substellar. We argue
that the balance of evidence suggests the system is old; the secondary
is likely either a star or a long-lived transition object.
