The U, B, V, R, and I photometry of SN 1987A obtained at Mount Stromlo and Siding Spring Observatories during the first 250 days since core collapse is presented. These data are compared with photometry obtained at other observatories, and the global data set is used to derive the evolution of physical parameters of the photosphere of the fireball, to give estimates of the hydrogen-envelope mass, and to give an estimate for the mass of radioactive nickel formed in the explosion.
