Concepts concerning space propulsion for the 21st century are reviewed
and evaluated, and a set of key issues and possible answers to them are
presented. An attempt is made to predict the futuristic propulsion
systems which might be based on tethers, antigravity, metallic hydrogen,
a solar sails scheme, and antimatter.
