Knowing the neutral gas content and local environment of low surface brightness (LSB) galaxies is key to understanding both the structure and star formation history of these diffuse systems. To this end, we are utilizing the refurbished Arecibo telescope to measure the redshifts and HI mass of the over 100 galaxies in the catalog of O'Neil, Bothun and Cornell (1997). To date we have detected over 25 galaxies with redshifts between 2500 km/s and 10800 km/s, primarily lying in the direction of the Pegasus and Cancer clusters. Structurally the detected galaxies span a wide range, with parameters ranging from 22.0 < mu_B (0) < 24.8 mag arcsec(-2) ; 3''< alpha < 20''; 20(deg) > i < 85(deg) ; and include a number of galaxies with extremely high MHI/L ratios. The color of these galaxies also span a wide range from the very blue through the very red ( -0.9 < U-B < 1.0, 0.2 < B-V < 1.7). We have thus detected galaxies at all phases in their evolution, and whose morphologies range from dwarfs to large, intrinsically luminous galaxies. Additionally, we have had the first 21-cm detection of a red LSB galaxy. With the completion of this project we will have a catalog of 100-200 LSB galaxies with known surface brightness, red shift, color, and HI mass from which a broad view of LSB structure can be obtained.
